A level Chemistry

I have both taught and tutored a wide range of chemistry specifications through out my career. From IB chemistry standard and higher level, AQA, OCR A and OCR B Salters through to Edexcel.

I am also an examiner for paper 2 of AQA chemistry paper, so know the intricacies of what the exam board are looking for in exam questions and am able to impart that insight to my tutees.

I am very conversant of the differences in the specifications, and all resources used in our session are  tailored to the relevant specification and are carefully chosen to support learning in our sessions. 

A level tution costs more that GCSE as I typically will spend at least an hour preparing resources in advance of our sessions.

Sessions typically involve recapping a specific topic requested by the student, to fill in any gaps in knowledge . Before going through a wide range of different levels of exam questions, with us modelling how to achieve maximum marks.  I point out the areas' to watch out for, and after guiding the student to answer questions  with help, we build up to enabling the tutee to be able to answer the questions solo with confidence they are maximising their marks. 

I specialise in making  the suject of Chemistry feel easier by breaking down concepts, and instiling confidence in the subject. I am passionate about the subject and can bring real life contect to abstract subject matter. This brings relevance to the session which helps to foster sustained engagement.
